Drummer is one of the first songs that I wrote when I began my spiritual path. There is a consciousness, a being, a life force that lives in us, as us, but also in everything that appears to be outside of us. This consciousness is present everywhere and in all things and beyond all things. Our beingness, our I-Am-ness is like the ocean and we are like the wave on the ocean. At times we feel separate from this infinite life and bliss, but in truth we are not. The journey back to this unity is what we are all searching for and the experiences along the way are the adventures and the stories that make up our lives. Our souls are craving these experiences, but they are also craving the return to unity. This song is about my own journey toward that unity and about the ocean of life, the one that beats my heart, the Drummer.
