This song was created inside an old bus on a hill by the sea , at the top of the South Island of New Zealand near a small town called Marahau.
Recording sessions had to revolve around the natural rhythm of the cicada, as the noise they produce during the day smothers all other sound. Smoking hot during the day and freezing during the night, a few summer weeks in Marahau left a lasting impression on us both. The land around us and the creatures that lived there inspired the name of the Cicada Sessions.
